A fire in the AgriFacture Operations warehouse on the evening of Sunday, July 5th has forced AgriFacture to temporarily pause all operations.
The fire began Sunday evening around 5:15pm, and after noticing the smoke, neighbors called 9-1-1 approximately 15 minutes after the fire had started. Eight fire departments responded to the scene and put out the fire, and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Although the fire was contained within one section of the warehouse, the high temperatures and toxic smoke resulted in extensive damage to AgriFacture’s technology and Better Shrooms mushrooms, which were either severely damaged or destroyed. The AgriFacture team has since announced their decision to pause all operations and close AgriFacture for a few months while they relocate and rebuild.
“We truly believe that we were on the cusp of something great,” says Head of Marketing, Andi Dean. “This is not an ending – it’s just a setback. AgriFacture and our Better Shrooms will be back and better than ever.”
AgriFacture CEO Ed McCammon expresses his gratitude to the community during this time. “Thank you to the multiple fire departments who responded to the 9-1-1 calls. We would also like to thank our customers, who have supported us and our Better Shrooms up until now, for being so understanding during this time. Moving forward, AgriFacture will rebuild and grow more Better Shrooms as soon as possible.”
AgriFacture is a family-owned business that has spent the last decade developing cutting-edge methodologies to change the entire dynamics of agriculture.
